Located  within the triangle delimited by the Hôtel de Ville, Place de la Bastille and Place de la République, the Marais is one of the nicest discrit of Paris. A walk in the heart of the streets and of the alleys where you can stroll quite calmly.

The Marais has been the centre of gay culture in Paris for a few years. Artists and fashion creatives have chosen their address at the rue des Francs-bourgeois -now a high expressive site. After a walk in history, with old stones, go to the modern architecture of the Centre Georges Pompidou - this pluridisciplinary site overflows with animation. You will have the choice to go to the movie, to attend a conference or a show, to stroll in the bookstore or the shop of design, or to read in the library.

The department stores Le Printemps and the Galeries Lafayette are located behind the Opéra Garnier in the boulevard Haussmann.

The Basilique du Sacré Coeur
Dominating  the Butte of Montmartre, the bright white Basilique du Sacré coeur is one of the ostentatious buildings of Paris, it offers a view over the capital from the terrace located upstairs as well as from the external gallery at the top of the dome.

Saint Germain des Prés

The hôtel des Invalides
Created by Louis XIV, this imposing architectural ensemble, composed with a big church and three museums, is part of the inescapable monuments of the capital.
The hôtel des Invalides was founded to be a house of convalescence for wounded soldiers.
Today, it commemorates the campaigns and the endless battles that have marked the history of France, all of which retraced at the Musée de l’Armée one of the most complete in the world in art, technique and military history.


Champs-Elysées, Concorde, Tuileries

A complete itinerary for the day,

You will  arrive at the Place de l’Etoile. The Arc de Triomphe dominates majestically on the top of the most beautiful avenue in the world, Les Champs Elysées. As you cross this avenue, you will discover its galleries and its luxury shops, but also its movie theatres and its terraces

Place de la concorde
This big paved place was built between 1755 and 1775. An obelisk of pink granite and 3300 years old is standing in its center since 1836.

On one side of the place is the hôtel Crillon and on the other the Assemblée Nationale.
Follow your itinerary  and allow yourself a walk in the Jardin des Tuileries, one of the oldest and one of the most beautiful public park of Paris, it offers a wonderful view over the Louvre and on the other side of the Seine over the Musée d’Orsay and the Eiffel Tower.  

The garden was created in the 17th Century by the architect and landscape designer of Louis XIV, André Le Notre, he made out of it a symmetrical garden à la Française, crossed with gravelled paths.

La Villette, Canal Saint-Martin, Buttes-Chaumont


La Villette is an exceptional site dedicated to various ways of expression. La Villette is made of the sites:

The cité des sciences et industries :
This is a huge futuristic building having a cathedral size. The visitor can experience all types of scientific activities according to interactive exhibitions

The Cite de la musique
It includes  a concert hall « le Zénith », as well as the Conservatoire national supérieur de la musique and also the Musée de la musique.

The canal saint martin
Walk along  the Canal Saint Martin (Métro République, Goncourt). This water channel,of 4.50 Km, linking the Seine to a channel network, was dogged in 1822 for 3 years. Its banks were appreciated by the artists, the writers, novelists and stage directors. Pace these tree-lined embankments, its small bridges and its locks, or try the terrace of a café and watch the barges coming along. You will have the impression to go back in time to the 19th Century.
